TLab Guidelines and Tools
Take a closer look at the TLab Guidelines and Tools
Transitions Labs (TLABs) are dynamic learning spaces developed to test and refine the Transitions Curriculum in real-world environments. Created as hubs of experimentation, they offer a hands-on, work-based educational experience for the textile and fashion ecosystem. TLABs focus on the green and digital transitions, fostering collaboration across higher education, vocational training, and professional sectors. Through practical workshops and creative projects, participants engage with sustainability challenges, learn new digital tools, and develop systemic thinking — all critical to shaping a more resilient and sustainable fashion and textile industry.
What is a Transition Lab (TLAB)?
A Transition Lab is a playground for learning, experimentation, and collaboration. It supports sustainable and digital transitions in textiles and fashion through:
- Hands-on activities rooted in local realities.
- Use of modular curricula based on the Transitions project and the Loopholes Toolkit.
- Collaboration between universities, vocational training centers, professionals, and external stakeholders.
Each LAB is adapted to its context, blending creative approaches like the Kaospilot methodology and systemic design thinking to develop new knowledge, tools, and business practices. At its heart, a TLAB values active learning, openness, cooperation, and real-world relevance.
