Role in the project
Next Technology Tecnotessile is the partner in charge of WP2 – Mapping the state of the art and trends for the project (Data Mapping & transference).
The WP2 will provide mapping and analysis of the state of the art of textile and material innovation and the technologies and digital tools for textiles and fashion design sectors for an industry 4.0 transition. It will investigate the market and professional needs and create three training profiles for future “change agents” (HEI, VET, and Professionals), identifying knowledge, skills, and learning outcomes for each training profile.
In addition, WP2 will map the collaboration opportunities driven by the industry’s circular and digital transition change.
The information gathered and the analyses made within WP2 will represent the key information and the basis of the implementation of the project activities.

With a distinct focus on applied sciences, the AUAS enables students, lecturers and researchers to address a real-life problem from the professional field and industry.
The research conducted at AUAS focuses on finding solutions to urban issues in the Amsterdam metropolitan area. Amsterdam is our Living Lab: Together with and for users we conduct applied research in 5 urban themes: Urban Vitality, Urban Management, Urban Technology, Urban Education, Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship. Practice-orientated research is an important component of the educational programs offered by our schools. AUAS is the largest university of applied sciences in the Netherlands and an important partner for public and private stakeholders in the larger Amsterdam region.
AUAS is a founding member of the Urban Research and Education Knowledge Alliance of European universities and universities of Applied Sciences (U!REKA).
Fashion Research & Technology research group
Within AUAS, the Fashion Research & Technology (FR&T) group involved in the Transitions project, is dedicated to scientific and artistic research into the many aspects of Fashion (Design, Branding, Business, Development, and Dress).
The FR&T group focuses on the application of new technologies and their consequences on everyday life. We take a wide view of fashion as the “things” worn on the body, including when your phone or your iPad is in your bag. We look at these “things” in other ways; when they are in the closet, the systems that make them, and new expressions of wearing.
Role in the project
AUAS is in charge of the WP 3 “Fashion meets Design by experimental workshops” to define the guidelines and contents to train from linear to circular systems, and mapping and testing scenarios through multidisciplinary workshops and learning practical methods.

About us
Borås is today the center for textile design in Sweden and Scandinavia and a reference for other European cities and regions. The School of Textiles and the Nordic Design School are Sweden’s leading schools for textile designers of the future. Borås’s position today as a trading town with very intensive foreign trade comes from the combination of traders and textile manufacturers. Borås is the Nordic mail order center with well-known companies such as Red Cats-Ellos, Cellbes, Gina Tricot, and H&M Rowells, and many millions of packages are sent from Borås every year. There is also the head office for many Swedish agencies and business chains in the clothing industry. They are the main reason why the region today has a more intensive foreign trade percentage than Hong Kong.
ACTE is a network of many municipalities all around Europe. The cities and territories associated all have a model of business development related to the textile and fashion sectors in common. The network also includes academies and other institutions related to the textile industry, as well as local development agencies and research programs in textile and design.
